Leaders in Security Labels, Anti-Piracy Technology Ink Licensing Deal
MENOMONEE FALLS, WI (PRWEB) November 28, 2011
Security and pharmaceutical label maker ATL has signed a licensing agreement with Document Security Systems, Inc. to incorporate DSS’s AuthentiGuard® suite of technologies into ATL’s anti-counterfeiting labels.
The two-year agreement gives ATL rights to use the following AuthentiGuard® technologies in its labels:
Barcode Barricade
Phantom
Pantograph
Prism
Block Out
VeriGlow
The close working relationship between ATL and DSS provides ATL customers an added advantage, ATL President and COO Donald Dobert said.
“DSS’s cutting-edge technology, combined with ATL’s own expertise in label manufacturing, gives our customers a highly customizable and non-forgeable labeling system that meets their particular, anti-piracy needs,” Dobert said.
Rochester, NY-based DSS also foresees distinct benefits.
“This is a significant agreement for us as it provides Document Security Systems with new ‘feet on the street’ and a commanding sales presence in the critical pharmaceutical label industry, which is focused like never before on issues of anti-counterfeiting and security,” DSS CEO Patrick White said.
A written statement from DSS noted that the brand protection market for anti-counterfeiting and authentication solutions is expanding rapidly — worldwide trade in counterfeit pharmaceuticals was valued around $ 75 billion in 2010, according to the Center for Medicine in the Public Interest, an industry-backed think tank.
