Network servers are of enormous importance to small business and corporations around the globe.  They complete and run tasks such as:  internet access, faxing, logons/logoffs and data storage.  Servers are normally equipped with storage, and backup storage so they can handle many projects at once.  They even supply individuals with their needs for tasks such as printing and/or gaming.

Here are a few of the most important types of servers in our world today:

Database Servers:  These specific servers are used to process specific database requests.  Programs, such as MySql, Microsoft Sql 2000 and Oracle are used for this very purpose.

Facsimile Servers:  The faxing server software program is installed within a server to convert faxes into a form readable on your computer screen.  Usually connected to a specific fax modem or a facsimile telephone line, these servers get us the information we need, and fast.

Web Servers:  Probably the most well known of all the servers, this piece of grand technology answers requests for web page connections each and every day.  Working around the clock, this server will complete web browser requests for thousands of individuals, and often at one time.

Some web servers are considered secure, for the use of credit card payments, etc., while others are a more open and simply formed.  Other types of web servers will host a number of different sites and/or applications for more than one users at a time.  No matter which tasks they are performing, they are well respected in the world of technology.
